Internet Connection Troubleshooting
Reader Question:
“Hi Wally, I am having problems with Internet Connection and wondering how to fix it?“ - Sarrah W., New Zealand
Before addressing any computer issue, I always recommend scanning and repairing any underlying problems affecting your PC health and performance:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (WinThruster for Win 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP and 2000 – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
Setting up weekly (or daily) automatic scans will help prevent system problems and keep your PC running fast and trouble-free.

Overview of Internet Connection
Your Internet connection is your connection to the world and if it is not dependable and strong, you will see many different effects upon your computer and how you are able to use it.
Whether your connection is wireless or wired, you want to be sure that you can get the Internet service that you need to be able to work and play on the web.
If you are having Internet connection issues, there are several things that can be causing it. From not having good contact between the modem and the cable connection to having device driver issues and more, there are many things that can cause a bad Internet connection and that can hinder your ability to get online.
In addition, if your modem or router is not working correctly, this can keep you from being able to connect and it can make your connection spotty as well. Narrowing down the cause of your Internet connection issue can allow you to find a way to repair it and be able to get onto the Internet.
What Problems are Associated with Internet Connection?
If you do not have a strong Internet connection, one of the first things that you will notice is that it takes a long time to load pages and can take a long time to download media or files.
In addition, you can have a connection that goes in and out, which will be quite frustrating. Not having a strong enough signal, such as with WiFi, can cause its own set of issues, including a decrease in download speed, spotty connections, and the inability to get a connection at all or load websites or email.
If any of these issues occur, or you are not able to get connected at all, then you may have an Internet connection issue that you need to take care of to allow you to get online. This can be quite simple or it can be something that is difficult to find the cause of, but it is an issue that can be quite frustrating. Your Internet connection can dictate your efficiency and your ability to work or play on the Internet.

Is Your PC Healthy?
I always recommend to my readers to regularly use a trusted registry cleaner and optimizer such as WinThruster or CCleaner. Many problems that you encounter can be attributed to a corrupt and bloated registry.
Happy Computing!
