Windows 7 Errors Troubleshooting
Reader Question:
“Hi Wally, I am having problems with Windows 7 Errors and wondering how to fix it?” - Krystal T., USA
Before addressing any computer issue, I always recommend scanning and repairing any underlying problems affecting your PC health and performance:
- Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (WinThruster for Win 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP and 2000 – Microsoft Gold Certified).
- Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
- Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.
Setting up weekly (or daily) automatic scans will help prevent system problems and keep your PC running fast and trouble-free.
Wally’s Answer:
Overview of Windows 7 Errors
Because computers are complicated machines, and Microsoft Windows is a complex operating system, there are very few users who have never encountered a Windows error. Users often believe that because an error happens when they are using a particular application, the problem is with the application. Most of the time, however, the error is with the operating system.
These errors are generally referred to as Windows errors. The most common Windows errors present a pop-up message informing the user of a problem with an application and stating it needs to close. Often, these error messages provide an opportunity to report the problem to Microsoft.
The most feared Windows error is called the “Blue Screen of Death.” When this type of error occurs, the computer crashes and the user is presented with a blue screen informing the user of the problem and some basic steps they can take to try and prevent the error from happening again. Microsoft calls this a stop error because the computer stops what it is doing to present the error message and will need to be restarted.
What Problems are Associated with Windows 7 Errors?
Many users choose not to report errors to Microsoft because they believe that nothing will be done to help them. This belief is reinforced by the fact that Microsoft will not attempt to follow up on the error or send an email informing the user how to resolve the issue.
While the user will not receive any immediate assistance with their problem from Microsoft, it is still important to report the error when the message provides the opportunity. Every report gives the developers more information about how and why an error is occurring. With more information, it is easier for them to identify the root cause and develop a solution.
These solutions are often delivered to users in the weekly updates. If the automatic updates feature is enabled in the OS, these Windows errors can be resolved without the user having to do anything more than accept the update.
It can be very frustrating when a user encounters a Blue Screen of Death because they are not given a chance to save their work and it will be necessary to restart the computer.
Fortunately, most of the time there is a clear error message that can be researched. One or more solutions can often be found on the Internet to resolve the issue.

Is Your PC Healthy?
I always recommend to my readers to regularly use a trusted registry cleaner and optimizer such as WinThruster or CCleaner. Many problems that you encounter can be attributed to a corrupt and bloated registry.
Happy Computing!
